Elden Ring: Farming Locations and Items To Help You Level Up

Leveling up in Elden Ring can become a chore, especially if you die while carrying runes, but there is a way to level up quickly to level 50. Runes are like currency and are needed not only for leveling up your character but also for buying spells, weapons, armor, and crafting items. So no matter where you are in the game, you will need runes, but if you die, it is not always possible to reclaim those runes.

Starting Class

When you first choose your starting class, you can choose "The Land Between Ruin." This will give you 3000 runes. Now,  depending on your starting class level, this can be greatly reduced, as the higher your level, the more runes you will need.

An example would be Wretch:

Level 1 with base stats of 10 for each attribute of that class.

⮞ Cost to level up to 50 = 262,472 runes

So using 3000 runes to level up your character in this class would get you to level 5 at a cost of 2,791 runes. The table will show you how many runes you will need depending on your starting class level.

Starting Items

The Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot will give you a 30% increase for three minutes. Although these are rare to find, you can purchase small amounts from merchants or craft them yourself by purchasing the Missionary's Cookbook [2] from Patches.

Patches can be found in Murkwater Cave, which is a dungeon north of Agheel Lake, but be warned, it will require you to not only fight Patches, but you will also enter into a boss fight with an invader, prior to entering Mudwater Cave. When fighting, Patches choose to "forgive and forget" to use him as a vendor.

The Golden Scarab Talisman - will give you a permenant Increase of 20% as long as you have it in one, but to gain it you will need to jump some hoopes and take on duel bosses. So its not something thats easy to get on a lower level.  The Golden Scarab can be found in the Abandoned Cave In Calid.

To prepare for this cave you will need some Scaret Rot and Poison bolusus as not only do you have to go through Rot and Poison, you will have to take on two Cleanrot Knights so make sure you have spent all the runes you have before entering the cave. If you have the Cookbooks for the Boluses you can craft your own.

Farming Locations

There are many farming locations but the two main locations to level up fast are Lenne's Rise and Moghwyns Palace.

Lenne's Rise is located in Dragonbarrow which can be found very early in game and won't affect your Platinum walkthrough. To farm Runes, all you have to do is avoid the ball and watch it go off the cliff to get 1925 runes.

Moghs Palace is located under Caelid in a secret location that can be accessed following Varre's Quest line. You meet Varre at first step when you first enter the lands between. Once you get to Moghs Palace make your way to the Palace Approach Ledge Road. Go to the edge of the cliff where you will see a bird, using a long bow shoot the bird and he will jump off the cliff giving you 11,000 runes. If you equip the scarab and consume a pickled fowl foot this will give you upwards of 13,500 runes.

Sleeping Dragon -also known as the dying mother dragon, can only be killed once so cannot be farmed but if you kill her you will get a whopping 50,000 runes and 5 dragon hearts. Killing the dragon seems so unethical but not everyone is interested in the lore nor care about an old dying dragon, if you do decide to kill her, then make sure you equip the Scarab and consume the Pickled Fowl Foot just before she dies and this will give you upwards of 80, 000 runes.

Limgrave Mausoleum - after killing Godrick The Grafted at Stormville Castle, make your way over to the mausoleum where you can get a duplicate of his remembrance worth 20,000 runes. Using your weapon remove the crystals at his feet until he collapses to the ground. Using rememberances for runes can be a great way to level up but only if you are not interested in any of the weapons offered, however if you are chasing the Platinum then you will need Godricks Axe to acheive the "Legendary Armaments Trophy". Taking down mausoleums can only be done once and so is not farmable.

Getting to level 50 and higher is easily achecivable at the beginning of the game before you reach Luerna lakes, but you will need to work for it and also clear Limgrave bosses.  Remember every choice has a consequence so do not kill NPC's early in the game as this can lock you out of the Platinum Trophy.

Elden Ring: Raging Wolf Helm Armor Set

With the release of the DLC, interest in this armor has spiked. Known as the Bloody Wolf Armor, which was worn by Vargram the Bloody Wolf, who was one of the first Tarnished to visit the Roundtable Hold, It was originally playable through the network tests and then obtainable in-game after killing Malkeith on the game's release; an update has now only made it obtainable through doing quests with NPCs at the Volcano Manor.

How to get the Raging Wolf Armor Set

Getting this armor does not require a specific starting class; no matter which class you choose, I started with Wretch as I wasn't sure which class I wanted to start with. Getting the armor requires you to get to Volcano Manor, so killing off NPC Barnahl early in the game for his legendary weapon can void your chance at getting the armor set. Additionally,  you need to complete the quests before killing Maliketh and Rykard.

Once you get to Volcano Manor, you need to speak with Lady Tanith and accept her offer to join the covenant. She will then give you a key that will open up one of the rooms. As you enter, there is a letter on the table; taking this letter will initiate quests. After obtaining the second-to-last letter from Volcano Manor, you will be sent to assist Knight Bernahl with assassinating Vargram the Raging Wolf and Errant Sorcerer Wilhelm. On successful invasion, you will receive the full Raging Wolf set. You can also kill Barnahl later to get his legendary weapon.

ELDEN RING SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE STORY TRAILER

The new story trailer for Shadow of the Erdtree has dropped and I have more questions than answers. The lore in Elden Ring is already massive with creators trying to explain in detail to anyone interested and there are a lot of gamers thirsty for more.

The new Story Trailer seems to chronicles Marik's journey to godhood and the war waged by Messmer the Impaler a new protaganist in the DLC. The story seems to be pointing to Marika who is seen grabbing threads of golden light which resembles the rune arc. The narrator who is unknown reveals that this is Miquella's version of events which started with seduction and betrayal that led to a war, and then the shattering of the elden ring.

The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window

Recently, my friend and I watched an anime that popped up on my screen. The title itself peeked my interest before reading the plot, which, as a lot of anime has, supernatural elements, but it was also the style of the anime, with a crisp, more adult-looking style. The anime tells the story of Mikado, who works in a bookstore. He has a tendency to see eerie things, which, although unerving, he lived his life pretending nothing was there. Going about his daily tasks, he removes his glasses to see that very thing that has become part of his daily life: a stranger, Hiyakawa, who comes into the store, declares that it must be destiny, as the job he has come to do is none other than an exorcism of spirits.

The first episode itself peeked my interest further and was especially humorous to see how the two strangers interact with each other. Hiyakawa is an exorcist of spirits and a little odd in his manner by the way he talks, interacts, and presents himself, with little or no social boundaries. Mikado, on the other hand, has no experience in the field and unwittingly gets caught up in the exorcism that day. He has a rather emotional, susceptible response to his feelings regarding the exorcism of the spirit. Hiyakawa is not only obsessed with Mikado; he politley insists that he come work with him in exorcising ghosts, but Mikado comes to realize Hiyakawa is not all that he seems.

The story continues as they get involved with a detective in a triple homicide where three females go missing and only their body parts have been found. Hiyakawa has been asked to help in the investigation, aided by Mikado. Although the series has some romantic undertones, the anime itself focuses more on the murder mystery plot.

Written by Tomoko Yamashita, a female manga artist who published her stories from 2013 until 2020, A live-action film adaptation was released on January 22, 2021, and an anime television series adaptation by Zero-G aired from October to December 2021. Tricornored Window was her most successful series to date.

Rainbow Six Seige - A Mess in The Making

Rainbow Six Siege used to be our preferred place to be when it came to multiplayer games because it was unique compared to other games. Based on the novel "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Seige," Rainbow is about a fictional group of international counterterrorism specialist operators from all over the world.

Although Rainbow started back in 1998, it has evolved from campaign mode to multiplayer mode, and by 2015, the game was rebooted with 20 base operators and Year 1 DLC operators: Valkyrie, Blackbeard, Caveira, Capitão, Frost, Buck, Hibana, Echo, and Recruit. The game itself pits the operators against each other in a VR simulation for training purposes. Six is a codename for Captian or Leader, as known by the introduction of Arnot and then Harry, whose job it was to recruit Rainbow operators and train them.

Toxicity through Gameplay

Rainbow was a tactical-based shooter where operators had to work together as a team to either attack or defend. There were several modes available in the beginning, which have again evolved with some improvements, but unfortunately, the major problem in the game has always been friendly fire. There are some players who simply cannot control themselves and play a game of cat and mouse by shooting and killing their own team members or ruining a game by killing the hostage.

Ubisoft has spent years trying to fix the issue with this instead of simply taking the ability out. Their excuse is that it makes the game more realistic. Why does everything have to be realistic? Killing your own team members because you have no control over your anger is not realistic but downright toxic, hence the reason Rainbow has a bad name for toxicity. Due to this, we abandoned the game as it was simply unplayable or enjoyable because friendly fire was a daily or every other match annoyance.

Mess in the Making

A few years later, we decided to give it another go and went back to playing, as apparently Ubisoft had made more improvements to the game. No, the friendly fire is still there, and team killing is just as prevalent as it was back then. Although annoying, we continued to play, and suddenly friendly fire, although annoying, took a back seat to what Ubisoft has done to Rainbow.

The game has newer operators and maps, and there have been some changes to the code of conduct where you can build up your reputation or standing with some rewards. Sadly, even this is broken, as the game seems to forget your reputation and standing. Still, this has improved the friendly fire problem, but not immediately, as in our first match, a guy comes in, kills the hostage, then leaves.

But that's not the real problem today, and now we have too many annoying distractions. Rainbow has evolved into Fortnite. Now, I am not judging Fornite; we play it and love it, but it's like Rainbow, another unique game that publishers are intent on destroying. Anyway, back to Rainbow, we now have a bunch of teenagers who treat it like a battle royal game and no longer work as a team but simply do their own thing.

If we go back to when Rainbow was released in 2015, you went through a training process with each operator and learned the game and how to use operators. Now people jump in dressed up as bananas and expect us to take it seriously. I get that people like cosmetics, but now we have this constant distraction that instead of playing a tactical game of 5v5 with specialist operators, we are playing battle royal with a banana (a slight exaggeration, but you get the gist). Its not the events thats the problem its using these skins post event. It's not only annoying to be distracted by ridicula skins, but it also takes away from what made the game truly great.

We are still playing Rainbow, but it's getting harder by the day to see it as what made it truly great, and it's filled with so many bugs to the point of pure annoyance. I have a lot of respect for developers, but I fear there is too much interference from the higher-ups. Ubisoft has this increadable ability to ruin what works to try and reinvent the wheel and turn it into a roadblock, and they do it with almost all of their games. They abandon what makes a game great and improve it by destroying it and turning it into something it is not and should never be. They have vision but have no idea how to implement it into their games.

End note: This is not a review but purely an opinion based on my own experience. I am not here to tell people what to play or how to play it. I'm not suggesting you stop playing either, and if you're happy playing a tactical shooter like a Battle Royal and dressing up as a Unicorn, then that's all that matters.

Temu Vs Amazon - Gaming Accessories from RGB Lights to Keyboards

Nowadays, it's becoming a normal practice to buy lights and items that are more RGB, and it's not always for gamers. Some want to improve the lighting or make their rooms more colorful, whether it's for a gaming room, study space, or simply a place to relax. There are so many places to buy locally or online, but most people turn to Amazon because that's all they know or have Amazon Prime, so that's their preferred place to shop. Some gamers use Amazon, and some turn to other sites like Newegg, but recently Temu, a newer online store, has become the rising star.

I was looking for some accessories and came across Temu, which had almost the same gear as Amazon but was cheaper. I mostly always used Amazon for lights and other gaming room accessories, but when I came across Temu, my focus changed. Now,  this is not a recommendation for others but rather my choice to try out something different and new to me personally. This is also based on my experience, which may differ depending on what you buy and who the seller is.

Anyway, I decided to try it out and order some stuff. Now,  my expectation was surprisingly low as I had never really thought about anywhere but Amazon, and I chose some items that I needed, but mostly for my study rather than the gaming room.

The first item on my list was a monitor stand I had seen on Amazon, which was the "Acrylic Computer Monitor Stand Riser with RGB Lights." The stand comes in two styles, Honycomb and Clear, so I ordered the honeycomb, which may look better in natural light. I don't have Amazon Prime, so the delivery time was around the same as Amazon.

I received the stand within the time given by Temu; it was packed very well with no damage and as described on the website. I set it up and was blown away at how something so simple could look so cool yet classy on the desk. Was this a fluke, or did I just receive the best service with a 5/5 rating from a site I had never heard of? Because of this, I decided to try again, but this time with a deal offered to download the app, so I downloaded the Temu App (this link will open a new window) and went ahead to place an order for some more items. This time I went with a Bluetooth speaker and some lights, both also available on Amazon but again cheaper.

I purchased one speaker and two sets of lights in two sizes, again with no expectations for the quality or longevity of each item. Within less than 10 days, both items were received. The speaker looks and works perfectly, and the lights, although not yet placed, work and look really cool. Obviously, it is too soon to tell the longevity of each item, but I will update periodically, so for now, I am absolutely happy with my purchases and the service received.

Both Amazon and Temu have independent sellers who sell on these websites, and I have bought from both. Amazon can be hit or miss, and I also believe that Temu will be the same. Either way, when buying online, it's a game of chance.

Temu is definitely the place to shop in today's market, with the rising costs of everything, particularly here in America. It allows people to get the things they need and lets them spend a little on themselves for things they otherwise cannot afford.

Amazon offers Prime with two-day shipping and Prime TV, but at a cost of $15 per month. They do have some good deals, but unfortunately, everything you see from independent sellers on Amazon was probably bought from Temu.

End Note: This is based on my own experience with Temu, but it may and could differ for you or anyone. Before buying anything, check for prices; do they offer free returns; and what is the window for returns? If the box is damaged, take a video before opening the package. Amazon also sells most of what is seen on Temu and some other websites, and it depends on the items you are buying, so always be cautious of all online stores and double check who the sellers are. In the end, it's your choice who you shop with and your decision to buy.

The Greatness of Assassins Creed Unity

"The Creed of the Assassin Brotherhood teaches us that nothing is forbidden to us. Once, I thought that meant we were free to do as we would. To pursue our ideals, no matter the cost. I understand now. Not a grant of permission. The Creed is a warning. Ideals too easily give way to dogma. Dogma becomes fanaticism. No higher power sits in judgment of us. No supreme being watches to punish us for our sins. In the end, only we ourselves can guard against our obsessions. Only we can decide whether the road we walk carries too high a toll. We believe ourselves redeemers, avengers, saviors. We make war on those who oppose us, and they, in turn, make war on us. We dream of leaving our stamp upon the world... even as we give our lives in a conflict that will be recorded in no history book. All that we do, all that we are, begins and ends with ourselves." ~ Arno Dorian

I was a huge fan of Assassin's Creed back in the Ezio days. Not that I didn't like the original; if it wasn't for Altair, the series would have gone nowhere, but there was something about Ezio that everyone fell in love with. His character and watching him grow into one of the greatest assassins—the story itself was phenomenal and taken right out of the history books. So why do I think Assassins Creed Unity excels? It has become one of my favorite AC games and one of the best.

Being a history buff, AC was always my go-to game, and I loved how they brought history to a new audience, even though some of it was stretching the truth. When they introduced AC Unity and the world surrounding the French Revolution, my excitement level reached a new height, and it was phenomenal in every detail. Sadly, they didn't get a chance to expand or even evolve it further because of a few cheap shots by gaming magazines like IGN and others.

The French Revolution was a period of uprisings, lies, deceit, and propoganda. Arno was born in 1768 to Charles and Marie Dorian. Marie abandoned the family, leaving Charles to raise his son on his own. After Charles was assassinated, he was adapted by François de la Serre (Templar). Arno was not aware of this or his father's history, so he was simply a boy who fell in love with a girl (Elise), the daughter of Francois, the father figure who raised Arno.

Arno later becomes an Assassin as his father, but he joined to find out who and why Francois was killed in an effort to clear his own name and to rekindle his friendship as he was still in love with Elise. The game itself becomes a murder mystery for Arno; while unknown to him, he was about to walk the shadow line, finding out not only about his birth father but also about Francious and Elise.

The game also contains side missions relevant to that period of time during the class struggles throughout France. It also has co-op for up to 4 players and helix mode, which allows you to play and view genetic memories with the help of Bishop (an unknown identity) and Shaun Hastings, known from previous games. The stealth is fluid and probably the best seen in any of the AC games, as is the combat and movement of Arno as he makes his way through the streets, climbing and entering buildings. The city is rich in characters known from that period of time, and the mission sequences are on point, as is the music for the game.

Assassins Creed Unity did everything right, and if it weren't for a few bugs, it would have been remembered for what it was: truly great. IGN did what they always do: play a game for 5 minutes and destroy it in one. That's why I never trust anything that comes out of their mouth. The most annoying of all was comparing it to Black Flag. AC Black Flag may be a phenomenal game in its own right, but it was a pirate game running under the umbrella of Assassins Creed. It didn't even touch the greatness of Ezio Auditore.

In their conclusion or verdict, they claimed the character was not strong or interesting enough for THEM (Typical rush-through review) Then there were some control issues that they claimed ruined the game; yes, there was one mission I myself had trouble with, but I soon realized it was more of a player issue, not fully understanding what the game was asking me to do. I played the game on release and didn't see any of the bugs others claimed to have had, maybe because I wasn't playing on a PC. I don't know, but I do know that PC gamers buy games without considering or factoring in their rigs capabilities of running the game the way it is meant to run.

Then we had people posting bugs in Unity with their caked dusty consoles and wondering why the game doesn't run or having their console trapped in an oven and complaining when the console shuts down but still blaming the game they were playing. I'm not saying that's the main reason for the bugs, but you can rule out a lot of issues simply by looking at some of the pictures being posted. Yes, Unity had bugs like most other games on release day, but let's leave it up to the gamers to decide. No one wants to spend dollars on a game that is unplayable, and there are some that may have been, but Unity was not one of them.

Now a days, most people watch others play demos before they buy a game, like the RadBrad, so they can see how the game runs or looks, or play the demo themselves before making a decision to buy. IGN may be the go-to place for some gamers, but for me, it's an opinionated preference. Ubisoft gave up too quick on Unity, so it never evolved the way it should have, and so they abandoned the franchise as it was and started pushing out games like Odessy, which for me is not an AC game in any shape or form.

Unity was the last AC game that felt like an AC game and even followed the greatness of Ezio, and it was the last of its kind. Mirage was Ubisoft's latest attempt at restoring what was known as an AC game, and it did go back to some roots that made AC great, but for me personally, it was still missing that click of being an assassin. AC Unity will always be remembered as an unfinished game because of IGN and Ubisoft's stone-stepping response to one of their greatest AC games. Unity still holds up today on new generation consoles and is still playable in its current form, but I hope they will one day do a remaster of the game and reintroduce what made it great for younger audiences. So for now lets reminace with this music video from AC Unity.

Geoff Keightley: Worse Person of The Year Award

When we talk about game awards and how they like to get people excited for upcoming games and trailers, Geoff Kneightly is always there, pushing his little agenda while standing on his soap box of lies and deceit. It's no secret that I simply do not like the guy, as he always seems so disingenuous and everything is more about him than any games or developers.

Recently, there have been a mass of layoffs in the gaming industry, which does not surprise me, and with AI, it's only going to get worse. We have a bunch of rich people trying to make quick cash by investing and controlling the gaming world, and the new generation of gamers is giving them a free pass to do it.

Microsoft being allowed to purchase activation blizzards was the start of the domino effect, and Geoff Kneightley is in the middle of clearing a path after having made himself the spokesperson for the gaming world. This was his opportunity to help manipulate gamers with his car sales speech, when in reality he is nothing more than a guy who is on a quick-rich mission and will do everyone's bidding to stay on top.

He doesn't care about gamers or developers, and his recent tweet proves that once again. Not once has he even mentioned the mass layoff, but he is quick to mention Game Scent with a direct link to their page. Not only was this bad timing, but it also shows no respect or care for what is actually happening to thousands of developers or their future. This is coming from the unofficial spokesperson, who has little or no decency but claims he cares so much about games and gamers.

Rightly so, he was inundated with comments about his timing, lack of care, or consideration for what was happening to developers. So he posted a tweet about it, and then, on the same breath, he talks about the Summer Game Fest 2024. This guy has no moral compass or any kind of human decency; he is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard who pretends to care while tweeting to protect his brand as everyone else goes up in flames.

Honestly, I love games, but I'll be damned if I use his outlet to get my gaming news or any updates, and as for his game awards or game fest, he can put it where the sun doesn't shine.

Final Fantasy Rebirth - Copyright Claims

theRadBrad, a popular YouTuber who has over 13 million followers and has always maintained good standing on both YouTube and with his followers, has recently received three copyright strikes. He posted a video about the strikes to explain why he removed Final Fantasy Rebirth walk-through videos from his channel. He apologized to his followers that he was no longer willing to stream the game for fear of losing his channel and even posted the permission slip he received from Square Enix.

Fightin Cowboy another YouTuber, has been more aggressive, saying they are likely fraudulent and that these companies do not have a claim to the music in these videos, and unless the claim comes from Square Enix, they should ignore the copyright notices. Personally I agree with theRadBrad its not worth the risk.

This has nothing to do with Square Enix and more to do with Reproduction Rights Agency's. The following agencies have raised copyright claims on Final Fantasy Rebirth videos:

CMBRA, ASCAP, BUMA CS, Polaris Hub AB, Warner Chappel Music Singapore Pte. Ltd,

LatinAutoPerf, Warner Chappel Music, Singapore Pte. Ltd, Polaris Hub AB,
JASRAC, PEDL, and ICE Core.

CMBRA. Warner Chappel Music Singapore Pte. Ltd, BUMA CS, Polaris Hub AB, and VCPMC_CS

This will have a huge impact on anyone wishing to stream the game for others, as it could affect their YouTube standing and ultimately have their YouTube accounts removed. As far as I am aware, the copyright claim was put on YouTube and has not yet affected Twitch streamers. I hope SquareEnix will intervene and look into those copyright claims, meanwhile if you are planning to stream Final Fantasy Rebirth, beware of these copyright claims.

Elden Ring - Shadow of the Erdtree -DLC

Today we got our first look at the Elden Ring expansion was created by FromSoftware director Hidetaka Miyazaki, who has been cooking behind the scenes to bring the new DLC expansion The Shadow of the Erdtree. After watching the trailer I'm curious to find out if the players who skipped Mogh will need to make that Jump as it looks like this could be the location of the DLC.

Miquella, brother of Melania, was a background character who is now central to the Shadow of Erdtree expansion. He is one of the Empyreans cursed with perpetual youth. He created the Haligtree to allow himself to grow into an adult and purge the rot from his sister Malenia.

Mohg, Lord of Blood and Mogwyn Palace, is a demigod who specializes in blood magic. He infiltrated Haligtree to steal the Miquella's cocoon, as he wanted to elevate him to godhood and become his consort. However, Miquella had stripped himself of his flesh and, as we now know, traveled to the Land of Shadows, so he was never in the cocoon.

Malenia, the Blade of Miquella and Goddess of Rot, is a two-phase demi god who is the twin of  Miquella and the most powerful of the Empyreans.
She was renown for her battle with Radahn during the shattering, in which she unleased the scarlet rot that drove Radahn insane and destroyed Caelid.

Shadow of The Erdtree is due to be released on June 21st and is now available on PlayStation for pre-order. If you haven't already bought the game, then buying both can be less expensive than buying the DLC alone.

White Day - A Labyrinth Named School - Kill Me Now

This game has one of the most annoying Platinum's to aim for, but for some, this may be more of a kill me now than a challenge. They have the most ridicules trophies that make it grindy and annoying, not forgetting the creepy Janitor. You have to play the game multiple times to get the platinum, so if you are a trophy hunter, you will know the first thing is to play and enjoy, then look at the trophy list. To blindly play this game and hope to get platinum with a couple of playthroughs and some challenges, think again. You may need more than a cup of coffee; think about writing your last will and testament.

If you are not interested in trophies and looking for a story, playing this game on anything other than hard would be a pointless walkthrough as most of the ghosts only show up on hard mode. What really bores me to tears is the lack of thought that goes into the achievements.

Memory of white day is a day the game will never let you forget.

There are multiple endings in the game that you need to get the platinum. The problem is that you must get every ending on every difficulty to obtain the "Memory of White Day" trophy, along with the related trophies. There are five characters in the game, and you have to find all of their endings. There are a total of 10 endings and five difficulty levels to complete, so it can take a total of fifty playthroughs. Not to mention the cryptic story line of having specific items and carefully choosing dialog in the hope of playing a character.

If you are prepared to spend the next 85 years of your life playing one game with a polluted story or spending an extra 10 years reading through walkthroughs, then go for it. Whatever the developers were thinking with this is beyond my comprehension, and anyone who wants to attempt it may actually have a meme named in your honor.

The many routes through hell to get an ending.

The game requires you to do separate playthroughs for each character and not just once, as well as play on each difficulty. You also need the ending trophies for each character, as well as the "Memory of White Day" trophy. Let's not forget that even though they put you through hell to play their game, they want you to repeat that experience by doing it ten times in hell mode.

This really is a trophy hunter's nightmare, as there are too many permutations to simply pull off without a walkthrough. As a trophy hunter, this has to be the worst trophy collection in the last decade, and to boot, they have managed to turn a game into a grinding mass of polluted story-telling with a Janitor who is overly used, annoying, and makes the game almost unplayable. So don't expect a haunting experience walking through dark corridors and rooms, not knowing who is going to pop up next, because you will spend 90% of the time running from a guy with a club.

The worst part about this game is that the story can be told in one sentence, so you are putting yourself through hell to come up with the same conclusion 50 times. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer Japanese survival horror games that just play and feel differently than their Korean counterparts. So if you really are looking for a game with an actual story, plenty of jump scares, and a haunting experience, then pick up a copy of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water.

Alien Isolation: When you think you are safe.

I recently decided to stream one of my older games. I'm not known for streaming single-player games, but I decided to give it a shot with the support of my dear friend Final Cut. This is one of those games that never gets old and can be replayed multiple times.

Alien Isolation is a 2014 survival horror game based on the Alien films. The game is set 15 years after the events of the original film. Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen Ripley, learns that the flight recorder of her mother's ship, the Nostromo, has been located and retrieved by the salvage ship Anesidora and is being held at the Sevastopol Space Station. Samuels, an android, offers Ripley a place on the retrieval team to obtain the flight recorder.

Alien is a single-player action-adventure game with an emphasis on stealth. The player controls Amanda Ripley from a first-person perspective and must explore a space station and complete objectives while avoiding, outsmarting, and defeating enemies. The alien creature cannot be defeated, requiring the player to use stealth tactics in order to survive, but there are other enemies who can be defeated.

Alien was nominated and won many awards, and by 2015, it had sold over 2 million copies and supported additional in-game content in the form of a downloadable content pack, but it never got the sequel it deserved as it was not seen as financially successful.

Trophy List Rating 9
Survivor

To gain the platinum for Alien, you will have to replay the game in hard mode which can be a bit tricky if you neither like or are good at stealth games. It has the usual trophy collection of collectibles and accessing/upgrading your equipment, with some minigames and accessing computers under some constraints. The main trophies are:

Survivor - Complete the game on hard and Mercy or Prudence - Do not kill any survivors and importantly do not get Androids to kill them for you or uses the Alien as your shield.

One Shot - Complete the game without dying, which will also reward you with three other trophies:

Mind Your Step - Navigate the maintenance reactor without dying.

Hide, Run, Survive - Complete the filth mission without being killed by the Alien.

Just Out of Reach - Contact your team and escape comms, without being attacked by an android.

Excluding hard mode, every other trophy can be awarded on novice. It's also important to save the game every chance you get. Overall, the trophy list is fun to complete, but you are always under duress, not knowing who is going to show up, whether it be aliens, androids, or humans, especially in hard mode, as the experience is more intense.

Ten stars is the maximum rating given, but there are two things that negate one star. There is no trophy tracking in-game. Yes, I know PlayStation now has this feature, but in-game will always be better, as it's easier to pause and look at your stats than pin a card to track. The most annoying trophy is 100 times too many, but it can be achieved by playing through nightmare mode. I feel this trophy was unnecessary and should have been removed or replaced. I personally would rather have seen a trophy related to not dying anymore than 10 times on normal mode. There are also a lot of similar trophies but that is probably because of the nature of the games as its about survival, in which you cannot kill or damage the alien it self.

Rainbow 6 - Sad Story

Playing Rainbow 6 with Final-Cut, he tragically died in battle 😭. We weren't winning any matches, but finally, in the last match, it seemed like there was hope. It was a heavy burden and down to me 😟, but the enemy was hiding and the smoke was overwhelming. 🤣 Then suddenly...

RIP Fares & Angel thankfully the puppy stayed home. 🤣

Remnant II - Death becomes you

Remnant II is the sequel to Remnant: From the Ashes, which pits survivors of humanity against new deadly creatures and god-like bosses across strange worlds. Inspired by a souls like video game but with guns. Players choose their own archetypes with a choice of two guns and one melee weapon. You can play solo or play with up to 2 other players.

RIP Fares & Angel but at least the puppy made it out okay.

To play the game, your main goal is NOT to fall over bridges or jump into the depths of the unknown, which will lead to your ultimate death and an orphaned puppy. If you want to die, hang around the sewers to be dragged down to the depths. I warned Fares not to hang around in that area multiple times, but he kept peering down; obviously, he has a death wish or wasn't tasty enough. 😂

Will I make it? he said. Yeah, of course you will, and he died. 😂

Well that didn't go as planned. 😂

The Dollar Interface of Our Virtual Word

I am noticing more and more that anything you want to view, read, or research on the Internet is a mess of overly polluted advertising that seems to be getting worse. You go to a website and you can't read a thing because there are way too many ads, and they are literally everywhere. You can't read paragraphs with multiple ads or videos playing in the background as you browse the site. All this makes it daunting for anyone casually browsing or researching something. I'm not opposed to ads, but I am opposed to flooding.

It's not only visiting websites; it even pops up in your email now, so no one is safe from unwanted ads, and now they literally want you to pay for ads. There is no more TV while watching ads, as this is their revenue. Now they want you to pay to watch ads, and I'm not talking about free TV channels; we are talking about companies like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, HBO, etc. If you want ad-free, then pay double.

Online apps and the cost.

Netflix raised the price, but not only that, they literally started charging you to watch ads. You can get Netflix for $8 if you are prepared to watch ads. Same with Amazon and all the other TV apps. Whatever happened, cut the cord and stop it from being ripped off.

I don't mind ads, but there is no way I am going to pay to watch them. Then there is YouTube and its ads, I get it they need to make money, but asking people for $15 just to disable ads is worse than watching multiple ads every few minutes. That is literally all premium offers, which is actually frustrating because you are paying for nothing, so businesses have become smarter at making you pay to advertise on their behalf.

But this post isn't just about ads like dish soap or a new car; this is about the multiple ads directing you to specific people who seem intent on spreading hate and discord. There are a lot of vulnerable people out there who are naive and easily swayed by what they read or see.

YouTube, being the most popular, looks like a dollar store page of advertising, with their app directing you to multiple people you don't know or care about. They spend all day mocking or fighting with other people publicly for fame or engagement, and then there are people who claim to help animals when they are in fact abusers. people who claim to help you with more personal issues, whether mental or physical, and it goes on. The worst ones of all are the people who make money out of other people's misery and misfortune, and it's all set up in a nice little lunch box by people who claim to care.

Same goes for Twitter, now known as X; they want you to pay $8 per month to view multiple adds between comments and are over-polluting the timeline. You also have companies like Microsoft and their multiple armies that pollute every person's thoughts with their trash mentality. Why are affiliates not declared on Twitter? Why are these people allowed to spread misinformation with the intent to mislead?

Let's also talk about people who want your votes to govern or already have the job and are literally paid to protect the people, yet they are using your money to help themselves instead of working for the people who put them there. Why are politicians even allowed on social media? It's not because they want you to have a better life, healthcare, or education. It's a bunch of rich businessmen who want to manipulate you into their way of thinking. They have an army of people who push their agenda, and yet again, no declaration or affiliation is declared, and it should be.

I was so tired of social media, and it is no longer a place I want to be, and it's not just the ads; it's the toxic nature of the people pushing their beliefs and opinions on others through advertising. We have moved into an age of shaming people as a form of entertainment. Then there is the online fighting and name-calling, forcing people off platforms because they don't like their opinion, threatening them in real life, and even going as far as stalking. When it comes to things that truly matter, you are silenced into submission, while social media influencers are paid to keep you distracted, so people start fighting each other.

The virtual world is now the new world, and the business world is the new world order.

Fearless with A Controller

So how did I come up with the name for this blog? My gaming quote and bio is "Fearless with a Controller," a quote I have been using since first booting up my PS4. It was based on my love for gaming; it's my passion, and when I'm not working, it's my favorite hobby. When I step into that gaming room, I become a fighter, a warrior, and a savior. Someone who lives the lives of others to do the impossible. Yes, it's a fantasy world, but it's my world, and I love every minute of it. So my controller was my chance to be fearless.

Username & Bios (About Me)

On the original console, it was simply a user name, as there were no achievements. It wasn't till 2006, when Sony introduced the PSN Network, that we started creating online IDs (2008 for me). No one really thought about IDs or gamer tags; it was just picking something to go online. I don't even remember the option to showcase 'About Me" at that time.

We had multiple consoles in our house, so each console had a separate username. Then I had three usernames, but it wasn't until we went online that I realized picking one would be better. You couldn't change online IDs, so you were actually stuck with what you were using at that time. The first time I remember being asked to create an ID was in 2008, when I first put in Dead Space. It asked me to put in an online ID. Then,  in 2011, I switched to my other account, now known as "Valkiaria," and went online with it as I hated the other username. The last account I went online with was in 2015 with the username "Witcherlin," which was used mainly to replay games and collect trophies. This username has since been changed but is rarely used.

How can see your PSN account creation date?

Well, the rumor is that Sony will send you an email on your anniversary, but this is only your username creation date, not the date you joined Sony. Honestly, I think buying a PS1 justifies your years with Sony if you continue to play on the PlayStation. The easiest way to check your account creation date is to look at your trophies. Although this will only go back to 2008, anything before that may be difficult, especially if you have changed your username several times. Another option would be to turn on your PS2/PS3, which should show you your original user names.

Trophies PS3/PS4

It wasn't till the PS3 era came out that we started to get achievements, although at that time I did not think about it. Trophies were first introduced in 2007/8, but not all games supported them. That's why using your trophy list as a placement for joining Sony is restricted to that date. My first achievement at that time was, in fact, Dead Space, but the first game on PlayStation to have trophies was Super Stardust HD, and the first game to have a Platinum Trophy was Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

Trials of Trophy Hunting

My first attempt at platinum was actually on the PS3 on Valkiaria in 2014, but due to a glitch with the feathers, it prevented me from gaining that achievement, hence the reason I went for it again on the PS4 and have since platted it on 2 of my accounts. If I love a game, I will replay it to obtain that shiny platinum on my other accounts and the only reason I stick with them.

The first platinum I earned was Beyond Two Souls in 2016 on "Minipoppy" and Assassins Creed II was my second Platinum, but this time on a different account of which I think was known as "Whitcherlin" at the time. This is the problem with having three accounts, and all because the ability to change usernames was not available at that time. Now I usually just play on Valkiaria 99% of the time, but this is basically how I started my journey of becoming one of those annoying trophy hunters.

Triple Platinum's - Seriously?

I was asked the other day if there will ever be a triple plat trophy where triple AAA games can give that option. Obviously, the game would need to be completed three times at 100% from scratch, with no carrying over of any trophies. Somehow, however, I really don't see if that would even be possible, as  what actually defines a triple AAA game. Slapping a $70 price tag on a game should not justify that kind of achievement. The only way around that idea would be that the game would only be a console exclusive made by PlayStation Studios, and even then, there would need to be some minimum difficulty level attached along with other requirements. The Last of Us 2's (my least favorite game) trophy list is basically collectibles and, in no way, would deserve a triple plat. Yes, there are other exclusives like Ghost of Tsushima and God of War. I can see that as a possibility, but honestly, I really don't see this Idea taking any kind of traction.

Bloodborne Rumors and Dramatics

Bloodborne is Sony's IP and probably the most requested re-master for the new Gen console and PC port. We have gone through multiple rumors from leakers about PC ports and movies that show the level of madness out there and the people who thrive on posting rumors instead of facts. In the end, people will complain if they do and become toxic if they don't.

Bloodborne is one of my favorite games and was recommended to me by a friend on PlayStation. He was right; it was brilliant, and I personally waited too long to play it. I understand why Souls players want to play it, but expecting Sony to jump hoops for anything other than PlayStation is actually mind-blowing to me. They were always reserved in sharing their titles and what they were working on; everything was always done in the background until they were 100% sure the title would be released. Look at "God of War' total surprise and most welcome announcement that had players even to this date reveling in the moment when it was revealed.

Today we are seeing a new generation of gamers who want everything yesterday and spend most of their time on social media complaining day in and day out about what they want. Honestly, you guys need to chill out. If it happens, it happens, but stop whining and demanding. If you can spend thousands of dollars on a PC rig, then you can buy a PlayStation, and yes, it's worth it. I understand not everyone has money to buy a new console or switch from one to the other, and I'm sorry, but demanding Sony port their games because you want it shows your entitlement has reached a new level of Insanity.

Bloodborne was made from the ground up for the PlayStation, where there are many titles, and that's where it's better played. Why should Sony port to a PC because you want it? Why should Sony spend the money on a port because you want it? In the end, you will always have something to complain about, even if you get it. If you spend 90% of your time on social media complaining about Sony not giving you a port, then you are obviously not playing much. Its a commodity not life saving surgery.

I'm not saying or suggesting they won't, but until they do, play, and have fun with what you have. Elden Ring is a phenomenal game with a new DLC, and I absolutely recommend you try it. As for Bloodborne, no one knows what Sony is working on, and until they decide to go that route or reveal it if they have, take a chill pill, enjoy your time with your friends and family, and take a walk in the park with your dog. But stop being so dramatic about what you want from a company when you don't even own a PlayStation.

Dark Pictures: Anthology - Devil In Me

Devil in Me is one of four games and the season finale in the Dark Pictures: Anthology series developed by Supermassive Games. The story is based on HH Homes Murder Castle. The story follows a group of documentary film makers who receive a mysterious call inviting them to a modern-day replica of HH Holmes’ ‘Murder Hotel’. But on arrival, the crew soon discovers they’re being watched and even manipulated, and suddenly there’s much more at stake than just their ratings!

The Devil in Me encourages the player to put their problem-solving skills to good use, as the game includes puzzles. You’ll need to find codes hidden or disguised in the world, untangle old fuse boxes, and find your way out of mazes, and failure might prove to be very costly. Like other games in the series, you control their fate, whether they live or die.

There are rewards, but what is more interesting about this one is the collection of videos about H.H. Homes that you will need to find throughout the game. If you find them all, you can view a small documentary about him, which can be found in the bonus features.

So who was H.H. Homes? Herman Webster Mudgett, better known as Dr. Henry Howard Holmes, was an American swindler and confidence trickster who is widely considered the country’s first known serial killer. Mudgett moved to Chicago and took a job as a pharmacist under the name "Dr. HH. Homes." He built a house for himself, later known as "Murder Castle," which was equipped with trapdoors, secret passages, and soundproof rooms with doors that could be locked from the outside. Mudgett confessed to 27 murders, which he later increased to 130. Some researchers, however, have claimed the real number exceeds 200.

To gain the platinum will require more than one playthrough, and for some, it may actually require a walkthrough, but overall, it is not bad but not great either. The dialog can become tedious as there is no option to skip when replaying the game. Some trophies can be a little more tricky but still achievable, but I see it as more of a glitch problem than anything else. Like the task of collecting crime scene photos, there is no way of tracking how many you have or need, and most annoyingly, you spend too much time trying to find the right angle. Overall, it's a pretty decent list, but questionable on some things.
